"Duke"
(GI Joe: A Real American Hero)

Leader of the special mission force codenamed "GI Joe", Duke heroically leads his teammates into battle to defeat the evil terrorist organization Cobra, and stop them from taking over the world.

This is Duke, the leader of the GI Joe team. Well, the "traditional" leader of GI Joe anyways. Hawk was the "man upstairs", but Duke was the field leader of the team. If you grew up with the cartoons instead of the comics like I did, Hawk didn't exist to you until 1986. But if you were more of a comic follower, Hawk was the field leader before Duke was invented, so this just gets confusing somewhat, lol.

Despite being a stylistic re-imagining, my goal was to keep some basic aesthetics from what he looked like in the original Sunbow cartoons, so that it still was "Duke" (if you know what I mean) so that focus was put on his head mostly, which is reminiscent of what it looked like, complete with cleft chin and the combed back hair instead of the buzzcut sorta thing he traditionally seems to have now in recent incarnations.

(NOTE: this is a work of fiction, this is not for a REAL animated series! I don't work in the animation industry in any way.)

**EDIT: I shortened his neck so it doesn't look as tall anymore**

Most awesome Duke. I never liked the character much myself, mainly because it was the "new girl every other episode" thing. The ones that made me think "clones" was the Falcon and Flint thing. Falcon wore the scarf which said "LOok I'm not Flint!".

lol my brother and I LOVED the Falcon toy for some reason (didn't care about him in the movie though). I have no idea why, and I still do, but I think it may have been because I didn't have a Flint toy and he was close enough, but I could be wrong XD

Flint was way better! :P

Yeah, Falcon had the same issues with me that Duke had, bu to a greater degree. He was obnoxious and I wanted to give him a good poke in the eye. Actually.. I wouldn't have minded giving Flint a good smack too, but at least Flint was really good at his job and smart. And he had a beret, which you know makes ALL the difference. Cause you could call him "beret-boy" to cheese him off.

lol yeah Flint was a jackass, but he was actually a pretty fun character. There were so many good characters, and a lot of 86'ers that are often ignored like Lifeline and Low-Light and Wet Suit etc etc. The 85'ers were really awesome, Flint was there and so was Dusty and Shipwreck and Alpine and Bazooka and Airtight, those were my fave 2 years of the line character-wise.
