This is "Kuta", from a creator owned series by called "Bastion's 7".
This is my entry for his Kuta vinyl statue art card contest.
This is also one of the first times I've gotten to try out my new standard backdrop, may do a few adjustments, but I wanted something simple, but no longer just a flat colour. Boring :-P
Wow, that guy's huge! Great lines, details, sense of motion. I like the background, m'self. It suggests horizon lines and depth of field without detracting too much from the art itself.
I;m glad you like the background, it seems to have gone over well, so I think I'm gonna keep with it :-P
The only change I'm making is that as some have said (and I agree) that the left side look too much like its a light source of its own, so what I'm doing is slightly darkening that side so its a little more "gradient" and a little less "giant spotlight" Wont be much of a change, but slight enough to make it a little less distracting. :-P
yeah its a SWEET mask! There's 2 other guys of slightly different body types with similar masks to this one, but just different enough to suit the characters individually
thankya I was worried it was gonna look TOO MUCH like Sean's artwork (its hard not too when its HIS unique character design, lol) but I feel I brought enough of "me" into it to make it my own :-P
I've actually been mentally battling with that m'self. I want a gradient cuz frankly it looks far nicer than just flat colours, but it does in fact look too much like a light source (and the lighter colour thingy in the middle doesn't help cuz it kinda gives a spotlight look unitentionally). I'm still gonna be tweaking things (or wholesale changing if I cant figure it out) but what I think I may do (or at least try it out) is darken the left so its not such a huge a progression from the lighter left to the darker right, and that way it wont be so bright on the left and look like a light source, but is still the fancy gradient.

You did a great job, very stylish.
